Specialist Massage
The Myofascial Cupping Technique was developed by David Sheehan in 2002. It involves the gliding of negatively pressurised cups over the body with the assistance of massage cream and can be accompanied by joint mobilisation.
It is a very different technique to traditional cupping and importantly, marking the skin is NOT part of the desired treatment outcome. It also should be performed at a pressure level that is almost painless to the client.
Unlike all other massage techniques that use compression, the Myofascial Cupping Technique is unique in that it ‘lifts and separates’ soft tissue, known as negative or tensional pressure. This in turn can increase nutrient-rich blood supply to the tissue, while giving a gentle passive stretch to the underlying soft tissue.
The Myofascial Cupping Technique can provide profound benefits, particularly with assisting the body in maintaining Range Of Motion, eliminating Myofascial Trigger Points and reducing restrictive and sometimes painful fascial adhesions commonly found from repetitive movement originating from sports and the workplace. By reducing fascial adhesions, while encouraging optimal hydration levels of soft tissue, the Myofascial Cupping Technique can assist in reducing the incidence of injury and maintaining functional soft tissue.

Pregnancy and Post-natal Care
Pregnancy massage is suitable during all stages of a healthy pregnancy. Aches and pains from a changing body can be relieved and relaxation is good for both mother and baby. Pregnancy massage is done mainly side lying with the support of pillows and bolsters.
Once baby is born, the postural challenges from frequent breastfeeding and carrying baby can result in painful muscular aches and tension. This is also an exhausting time where relaxation can help mum immensely. We understand that childcare isn’t always available, so baby is very welcome to come to appointments and the massage is done in a relaxed and caring environment.
Specialist Massage
Palliative massage is a gentle and caring service. This service is delivered with the utmost sensitivity and compassion for the client and their family’s needs. Palliative massage is beneficial for the pain associated with reduced mobility, as well as for relaxation and sense of connection through touch.
Mobile treatments are available, and options are available for clients unable to leave their bed.

Nominate a Carer
Care for Carers
Creative Balance would like to acknowledge the work and sacrifice that unpaid carers do for our community! How our society treats its most vulnerable members impacts us all. We have people in our community doing the hard yards and often bearing the financial brunt of that responsibility. So Creative Balance would like to nurture some of our givers by pledging two massages a month to unpaid carers in our community who are in need. If you know someone caring for a family member, an elderly relative or unwell child and you would like to nominate them for a massage, with their permission, please nominate them here.
Would you like to pay a massage forward or perhaps join the Caring for Carers initiative? If you have something you would like to offer, please get in touch.
